About the Program and Position

Texas Baptist Hope for Children (TBHC) serves foster children and supports foster/adoptive families throughout the DFW area. We are a Christian agency whose purpose is:
Glorify God by Caring for Children. Our Intake/FAD Coordinator role serves as the first point of contact for children who are in need of placement. They ensures timely coordination with state agencies as well as foster and adoptive families. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting safe and stable placements. To provide the quality care to the children and families, this will require team coordination, organization and travel throughout the DFW area.

(DFW area includes but not limited to the following counties: Dallas, Ellis, Tarrant, Johnson, Rockwall, Kaufman, Denton, Collin)

Must have a college degree.

Schedule
  • Office

    Hours:

    Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:00
  • Will require after-hours to complete services and on-call
  • Occasional weekends for special events and on-call rotation
  • On Call Rotation Schedule
Job Duties
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of the placement openings in the Foster Care/Adoption program.
  • Maintain compliance with all DFPS, TBHC, and Foster Care/Adoption program policies, procedures, and regulations related to program.
  • Monitor, obtain, and track in data-base system referral information provided by the Centralized Placement Unit of DFPS/SSCC Intake for all regions for possibilities to match placement openings in the Foster Care/Adoption program.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate staff and potential foster/adoptive parents, the assimilation of collected intake information to determine the appropriateness of possible placement.
  • Obtain all necessary paperwork to complete the Intake process for planned placements and emergency placements.
  • Provide direct case management services for TBHC foster/adoptive families and children in care
    • Monitor records for compliance
    • Provide support and supervision for foster/adoptive parents
    • Develop treatment/service plans
  • Prepare service plans, monthly spreadsheets, audits for files.
  • Assist in building and nurturing a department atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation, and communication; build and nurture relationships with staff members that are characterized by trust, cooperation, and support.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s culture and socioeconomic characteristics.
