They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the abundance of choices Academy has to offer, and contributing to customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy’s Mission.

• Provide fast, friendly customer service and help customers navigate Academy’s product offerings.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Associates or Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice preferred for Asset Protection Team Member only.
• Experience:
  
  Previous related work experience preferred. Operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier Only).
• Skills:
  
  Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communication; ability to execute multiple tasks with strong organizational skills; ability to read and follow safety rules and procedures; basic math competence; familiarity with inventory software and order processing systems (Cashier Only); strong knowledge or interest in outdoors hobbies and skills (Outdoor Enthusiast Only).
• Special requirements by role: CPR/First Responder certification a plus (Asset Protection Team Member);
  Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background a plus (Asset Protection Team Member); firearms transactions requirements for Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member; FOID card requirements in Illinois (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member).

• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
• Acceptable hearing and vision; ability to perform job duties; comply with company policies and procedures.
• Frequently required to walk, reach, and talk; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
• Constantly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds; constant use of hands and fingers.
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
