Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with hands-on experience in the site construction industry to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Quick Books and be comfortable managing day-to-day financial tasks, job costing, and construction-specific billing processes such as progress billing and lien releases.
You’ll play a critical role in supporting the financial health of the company by ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely reporting related to construction jobs, vendors, subcontractors, and project costs.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping in Quick Books Online, including A/P, A/R, payroll entries, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Track job costs by phase and cost code; reconcile with estimates and budgets.
- Prepare and issue progress billings, pay applications, and AIA-style invoices.
- Monitor and manage subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and W-9 documentation.
- Reconcile credit card statements and monitor expense categories.
- Assist with weekly payroll reporting and certified payroll if required.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for ownership and/or CPA review.
- Work closely with project managers and operations to ensure job data accuracy.
- Maintain documentation for audits, insurance, and bonding requirements.
- Stay compliant with sales tax, local/state filings, and licensing renewals as needed.
- Assist with project management needs like scheduling inspections and obtaining permits.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in site construction or a related trade (excavation, utilities, grading, concrete, etc.).
- Proficiency with Quick Books (Desktop and/or Online).
- Strong understanding of job costing, construction billing, and WIP reporting.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, contracts, and project accounting workflows.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Solid communication skills; able to collaborate with PMs, vendors, and clients.
$49,500 - $54,000 yearly
