Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - OB Hospitalist in Waverly, IA

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled OB Hospitalist to provide exceptional care in Waverly, IA. This critical role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on maternal and neonatal health while offering flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. As a vital member of our medical team, you will deliver high-quality obstetric and gynecologic care in a supportive environment, ensuring positive outcomes for patients and their families.

Required Skills:

  • Physician licensed in Iowa or eligible for licensure
  • Board eligibility or certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Experience in obstetric hospitalist roles or inpatient OB care
  • Strong clinical skills in OB triage, deliveries, and gyn emergencies
  • Knowledge of EMR systems (specific system to be determined)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience with Level I NICU cases
  • Availability for hospital call and clinic coverage
  • Familiarity with MHAS model or similar clinic and call workflows
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of obstetric hospitalist experience
  • Proven track record of managing diverse obstetric cases in a hospital setting
Other Requirements:
  • Must be comfortable with the MHAS model involving both clinic and call responsibilities
  • Willingness to work 24-hour shifts, likely starting around 7:00 or 7:30 am
  • Valid medical license, along with applicable certifications
  • Travel and licensure reimbursements provided when applicable
  • Ability to adapt to hospital protocols and emergency procedures
