What You’ll Do
  • Personalized Patient Care & Clinical Support
    • Create a welcoming, compassionate, and personal environment for every patient and family.
    • Greet and room patients with warmth and empathy; ensure comfort and support throughout the visit.
    • Complete patient intake with care, obtain vital signs, and conduct initial assessments within scope of practice.
    • Listen actively to patient and caregiver concerns and provide clear explanations and emotional support.
    • Prepare patient encounters by updating medical records and ensuring accuracy of medications, past medical history, recent tests, and imaging.
    • Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection (e.g., swabs, hemoglobin/lipid checks, blood draws, urine collection) with sensitivity.
    • Provide breathing treatments and other minor in-office procedures; educate families about the process.
    • Assist physicians and/or Advanced Practice Practitioners and nurses during procedures to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Technology & Administrative Responsibilities
    • Develop expertise in EMR and clinic technology to support accurate documentation and care coordination.
    • Use EMR tools to personalize care plans and track progress across visits.
    • Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups, coordinating with provider availability and patient needs.
    • Assist with prior authorizations, medication refills, and referrals to ensure smooth care transitions.
    • Support patient recall efforts to meet quality measures and ensure timely preventive and follow-up care.
  • Clinic Maintenance & Professionalism
    • Maintain a clean, child-friendly environment and ensure rooms and equipment are sanitized and stocked.
    • Monitor and replenish supplies to support uninterrupted patient experiences.
    • Represent the clinic with professionalism, kindness, and a commitment to exceptional service.
    • Communicate with empathy and clarity to keep families informed and confident in their child’s care.
  • Professional Growth & Team Collaboration
    • Develop proficiency with clinic technology, scheduling tools, patient communication systems, and diagnostic equipment integration.
    • Commit to continuous learning about pediatric care, technology, and patient experience excellence.
    • Support and mentor new team members; foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
    • Engage in team discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and special projects to enhance clinic performance and patient experience.
What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new computer programs as needed to sustain practice operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate dependability, initiative, prioritization, teamwork, and responsiveness to direction.
