Position Overview:
Using the nursing process (SBAR [Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendations]), the staff RN provides nursing care to meet the physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of a group of residents. The staff RN responds in emergency situations to assure resident safety and security.
Job Standards:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, including current and unrestricted licensure by the State of Wisconsin.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in relating to residents, families, and health team members.
- Must possess the understanding and ability to comply with federal and state rules and regulations such as OBRA, HSS 132, Nurse Practice Act, etc., as they apply to Nursing Homes.
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without harm to self and others.
- Must be CPR certified.
- Follow "The Standard of Practice for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses" as defined in Chapter N, State of Wisconsin Administrative Code, Board of Nursing.
