Middle School Science and Social Studies Teacher - Immediate Opening
The Middle School Science and Social Studies Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to middle school students while integrating Catholic values into daily teaching. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with adolescents, knowledgeable in both content areas, and committed to supporting the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach middle school science and social studies courses aligned with state and archdiocesan standards
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate hands-on learning, critical thinking, and inquiry-based instruction, including science lab lessons
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into classroom instruction and school life
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administration to enhance curriculum and instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Support the mission and philosophy of St. Joseph Catholic School
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (science or social studies preferred)
- Teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin (preferred)
- Experience teaching middle school students is strongly preferred
- Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the faith life of the school community
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
