Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Post-Surgical Care Unit position in Wisconsin, requiring a WI or compact RN license and prior travel experience.
Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced 40-bed adult and geriatric Post-Surgical Care Unit within a hospital setting

• Care for patients along the continuum of pre- and post-surgical recovery

• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 on days/PM, 1:5-7 on nights

• 12-hour variable shifts (day/night: 7a-7p/7p-7a)

• Every other weekend and holiday required

• Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments

• Patient population averages admissions per day with high occupancy%)

• Utilizes Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric post-surgical patients, including pre and post-PACU recovery

• Team-based care environment with high patient turnover and average stays of 2-3 days

• Any scrub color is acceptable for this position

• Holiday coverage is required according to the hospital's schedule

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

• First-time travelers will not be considered
Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required

• Current BLS certification required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg hospital experience required

• Trauma Level II hospital experience required

• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Experience with Epic EMR required

• Ability to multitask and prioritize care based on acuity
