Overview
The Women’s Community currently has a position available as an Anti-Trafficking Advocate.
Job Summary: The Anti-Trafficking Advocate will provide crisis intervention, support services, legal advocacy, shelter coverage and follow up for victims of human trafficking.
Responsibilities- Provides advocacy, crisis intervention, supportive counseling and follow up services to individuals affected by trafficking.
- Provides advocacy for program clients throughout their involvement in the criminal justice system and mental health/social service system.
- Provides transportation as required by clients.
- Acts as liaison between criminal justice systems and clients.
- Provides advocacy regarding legal, medical, financial, and other areas as needed by clients.
- Provides information and referrals and general program and issue information.
- Provides assessment of individuals seeking shelter.
- Provides ongoing support and advocacy to assist clients in maintaining long-term safety.
- Bi-lingual fluency is a plus.
- Must possess the ability to work in a non-judgmental manner.
- Must be able to provide community education/information to large audiences.
- Must possess knowledge of trauma response, domestic violence/sexual assault dynamics, and understanding of trafficking.
- Hourly Wage: $20
