Position Overview
As an HR Business Partner, you’ll be responsible for a comprehensive range of HR functions including hiring, retention, talent management, compensation, benefits, and legal compliance

, promoting an open and positive culture aligned with Nelson Miller Group values. This role ensures policy awareness, effectively manages employee relations, and supports company-wide initiatives. You’ll also contribute to the creation and delivery of employee training, development, and engagement activities.

This position will be based at our facility in Wausau, Wisconsin.
- Champion Nelson Miller Group's culture and values throughout the organization.
- Stay ahead of changes in state and federal employment laws, and disseminate updates to the HR team, management, and employees.
- Serve as a trusted liaison between employees and management, keeping leaders informed of employee concerns.
- Mentor and counsel management on employee relations and performance-related matters, ensuring fair application of policies.
- Address employee benefits questions and support open enrollment activities.
- Advise on all Human Resources policies to employees and managers.
- Foster positive relationships and morale, contributing to a supportive company culture.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support HR operations and initiatives.
- Oversee the Annual Review and Goal Setting process for assigned areas/facilities.
- Collaborate with managers to develop SMART goals that drive employee development and strengthen the organization.
- Drive organizational development activities, identifying strengths and weaknesses and providing guidance.
- Partner with Senior HR Leadership to develop training programs and succession plans to enhance staff skills and internal growth.
- Conduct engaging training sessions on Human Resources, Leadership Development, and other management topics.
- Research and analyze data to support non-routine HR projects, recommending policy or process changes.
- Participate in salary surveys and HR projects, providing reports and analyses.
- Track and analyze key HR metrics and the progress of HR initiatives.
- Improve and automate HR processes, consider new HRIS modules (e.g., Paylocity), and train managers and employees.
- Develop and execute recruiting and retention strategies for assigned locations/areas.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on recruiting and interviewing plans.
- Fill open positions efficiently with top talent and follow up with managers on recruitment plan effectiveness.
- Proactively build a pool of qualified candidates and network to attract exceptional talent.
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Manage job postings across platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an exempt-level Human Resources position.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in performance management, organizational development, training, and employee relations.
- Prior experience in a high-technology, manufacturing, or production environment is highly desirable.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with proven presentation and training abilities.
