Payroll Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Wausau, Wisconsin. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing payroll operations for a large employee base while fostering a motivated and cohesive team environment. This opportunity requires strong technical expertise in payroll management and leadership skills to guide and support the team effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage full-cycle payroll for a workforce of over 14,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Lead and motivate a payroll team across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and engagement.

- Administer multi-state payroll processes, including tax remittance, W2 preparation, and manual corrections.

- Support payroll operations within existing HRIS systems, including Infor

GHR and UKG Pro.

- Partner with HR and other departments to streamline payroll operations and resolve discrepancies.

- Ensure payroll tax filings are accurate and timely, adhering to federal and state regulations.

- Provide coaching and development opportunities for payroll staff to build a positive workplace culture.

- Maintain autonomy in managing complex payroll scenarios, including benefit deductions and varied pay codes.

- Facilitate the transition to new timekeeping systems while minimizing disruptions to payroll processes.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and troubleshooting.

Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of experience in full-cycle payroll management for large organizations.

- Expertise in multi-state payroll processes, including compliance with payroll tax regulations.

- Proficiency in HRIS payroll systems such as Infor

GHR and UKG Pro.

- Strong leadership skills to motivate teams and enhance engagement.

- Proven ability to manage bi-weekly payroll cycles with minimal errors.

- Experience in hospital or healthcare payroll operations is highly desirable.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex payroll scenarios autonomously.

- Knowledge of payroll tax reporting and returns processes.
