Children's Pastor

Christ Community Church disciples on average 60 children aged 11 and younger through its services and programs on a weekly basis. The Children’s Pastor oversees and manages our entire Kids Department with all its volunteers and ministry efforts to ensure the spiritual development of our Christ Community Kids (CC-K). This includes curriculum oversight, kid’s ministry leader recruitment and development, classroom management, the operational management necessary for successful weekend and mid‑week kid’s services as well as periodic special events.

Most importantly, this role is to foster a Christ‑centered, godly environment in which our CC‑Kids can grow in their understanding of and relationship with the Lord.

The Children’s Pastor position is a staff position and answers directly to the Senior Pastor who oversees and guides all Ministries at CCC and will be a part of the staff office of CCC. Ministry budget/spending will be conferred with the Senior Pastor.

The town of Schofield is part of the larger Wausau area, a vibrant, growing hub in central Wisconsin, offering excellent education, shopping, entertainment and recreation.

• Teach, pastor, and oversee CC-Kids on Sundays, Wednesday nights and special events
• Accompany kids to Camp and other occasional activities
• Organize Vacation Bible School (summer event) including recruiting adult and youth volunteer team
• Establish and maintain excellent parent communication
• Actively and persistently recruit to build the Christ Community Kids Team
• Perform kids volunteer background checks
• Schedule CC-Kids volunteers for all services (utilizing Planning Center)
• Hold regular team meetings with the CC-Kids Team
• Organize and manage CC-Kids classrooms in conjunction with the office
• Replenish, organize and manage supplies
• Maintain focus on the further development of our Kids Department and its ministry

• Highly organized, highly relational, outgoing personality
• Ministerial credentials or relevant theological or ministerial training (credentials with the Assemblies of God preferred)
• Experience in youth ministries or church ministries
• Willingness to take our kids to the Assemblies of God kids camp
• Ability to engagingly teach Bible lessons to our children
• Able to lead children to accept the Lord into their hearts
• Empathy to pastor children with various needs, but also to discipline in godly manners
• Skilled in recruitment and training of volunteers
• Team player and motivator

• $45,000 – $50,000 competitive pay, dependent on experience, education and credentials
• 3% of gross employer contribution to Retirement Plan
