Job Summary

Professional tutors facilitate student learning by assisting students in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) in a given subject area between 1-10 hours per week in both one-on-one and small-group settings. Tutors, under the direction of Timberwolf Learning Commons leadership, will coordinate with academic areas and instructors to aid students in meeting learning competencies. In addition, tutors document student progress and session data for grant purposes and market Academic Resource Center in classes and to the college community.

Additional duties as assigned. Hours will be determined by the supervisor and candidate, subject to change as workload and needs of our students and work areas change. This position involves local travel.

Application Information

While there may not be an immediate need for a student employee in every area, Northcentral Technical College (NTC) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time student employee opportunities and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises.

  • Strong organizational and written and oral communication skills.

  • Warm, professional, and helpful interpersonal style.

  • Embrace of NTC's values of Learner Focus, Continuous Learning, Ingenuity, Access, Service to Community, Diversity, Culture of Professionalism, and Advocacy.
