Position: Nursing Assistant 3

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the assigned Nursing Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the provision of health care and services to patients in the Infirmary at Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI). Duties include assisting Physical and Occupational Therapists, Nursing Staff and Advanced Care Providers with direct patient care, clerical functions and assigned duties to maintain the day‑to‑day functioning of the twenty‑four‑hour infirmary operation.

Pay

Information

Position is in pay schedule and range 06-12 with a starting pay of $27.22/hour
. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required. Pay rates for individuals with prior state service are:

  • 0 Years of Service: $27.22/hour
  • 1 Year of Service: $27.78/hour
  • 2 Years of Service: $28.35/hour
  • 3 Years of Service: $28.93/hour
  • 5 Years of Service: $29.49/hour
  • 10 Years of Service: $30.06/hour
  • 15 Years of Service: $30.63/hour

Job Details
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
  • Department of Corrections may conduct pre‑employment drug screens. A conditional offer requires passing the screen.
  • Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks prior to selection. All new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting upon hire.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess, by time of hire, certification in CPR by the American Heart Association, training in the use of the AED and the ability to perform CPR and/or first aid.
  • Experience:

    Using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), performing CPR, performing First Aid.
  • Making accurate and complete observations and assessing patient status regarding changes in physical and mental condition.
  • Initiating action in emergency situations.
  • Being registered or eligible for registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Wisconsin.
