The Restorative Aide works under the supervision of licensed nursing and therapy staff to assist residents in maintaining and improving physical function, mobility, and independence. This role supports restorative nursing programs to enhance residents’ quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with restorative nursing programs as outlined in care plans.
- Support residents with ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, and transfers.
- Encourage resident participation in activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Document resident progress and report changes to nursing staff.
- Use proper body mechanics and safety techniques at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Follow facility policies, infection control, and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 4 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Restorative Aide training or experience preferred.
- Knowledge of restorative nursing principles and techniques.
- Ability to work compassionately with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents as needed.
- Must have an Active WI CNA Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing.
- Must be compliant with all state healthcare worker background check requirements.
