JOB REQUIREMENTS:
We are hiring a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to perform material handling, machine operating, and painting duties in our production environment. This position plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
- Material Handling:
- Load and unload steel materials and finished products
- Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment
- Store and organize materials in designated locations
- Verify materials received against purchase orders
- Report shortages, damage, or incorrect shipments
- Assist with inventory and stock rotation
- Prioritize tasks to meet scheduling demands
- Machine Operating:
- Operate a variety of machines used in steel manufacturing
- Calibrate machines before production
- Perform routine inspections and cleaning
- Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines
- Load and unload materials within the shop and from trucks
- Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance
- Painting:
- Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, thickness, and consistency
- Make touch‑ups or corrections when needed
- Maintain painting equipment including sprayers and compressors
- Follow all safety and PPE requirements
- Keep simple records of materials used and work completed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment
- Basic machine operation and maintenance knowledge
- Painting or surface preparation experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty, or temperature‑varying environment
