Machine Operator - 1st Shift at Tanis Brush
SummaryThe Machine Operator is responsible for the manufacture of parts per prints and specifications in an accurate and timely manner; the operability of the equipment thru preventative maintenance and minor repairs; and the cleanliness of the work area. The Machine Operator performs first‑piece inspection as well as the quality checks on subsequent produced pieces.
Pay RangeThis position ranges from $21–30 per hour, paid biweekly. All employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Schedule1st shift:
Monday – Thursday, 5 AM – 3 PM

- Set up machine, load and set up programs and operate machines.
- Ability to read work orders and work instructions as needed.
- Set up and run clippers, rotary trimmers, or other secondary equipment.
- Stage materials in the focused factory that are used in the production of finished goods.
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Perform general preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain production documentation and records as needed.
- Responsible for clean‑up procedures.
- Training new employees on proper procedures and techniques.
- Clean up equipment and work area.
- Participate in the development of work instructions or continuous improvement projects.
- Read and understand blueprints, specifications, dimensions, and routings.
- Support the Safety and ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems.
- Work in accordance with Tanis mission, vision, & values at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED equivalent; associate’s degree an added plus.
- 1–3 years of machinist experience preferred.
- Requires basic mathematical, measuring, & computer skills.
- Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with other employees.

Normal factory environment. Slight exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and oils is present.
