What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician II performs a variety of skilled tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and improvement of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role requires an advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to trouble shoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.
Requirements for Effective Performance:
* Oil, lubricate, and perform general preventative maintenance of specified machines such as overhead hoists and air compressors
* Repair company equipment and tools
* Perform janitorial duties as needed
* Bale cardboard and remove bales when necessary
* Assist outside contractors working on Zero Zone property
* Pick up trash and empty containers in plant work areas
* Perform snow removal and lawn maintenance as needed
* Provide employees with assistance on assorted projects as needed
* Perform, document, and file all preventative maintenance programs
* Adhere to all clean up, maintenance, housekeeping, and safety procedures
* Machine and mill parts for assorted pieces of equipment
* Cut and weld steel accurately and safely
* Cut, thread, and install piping
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements for Effective Performance:
* 5-7 years of electrical and/or mechanical experience or a combination of both
* Intermediate experience with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding
* Advanced familiarity with a variety of small hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
* Exercise judgment in the planning and sequence of operations
Skills/Abilities/Specifications:
* Ability to diagnose equipment issues and make necessary repairs
* Ability to comprehend simple instructions, both oral and written.
* Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and in group settings with other employees within the organization.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with simple problems in the maintenance process.
Behavioral & Environmental Requirements:
* Maintain a positive work attitude. Zero Zone expects all employees to behave and communicate in a manner which will facilitate good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisor.
* Safety toe shoes and safety glasses are required while in production areas.
* Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the office and production areas; have use of hands and fingers to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
