4HR Weekday (1500‑1930) and 8HR Weekend (0700‑1530). Weekend and Holiday rotation.
4NW is a 31‑bed mixed acuity care unit that specializes in orthopaedic and neurological patients. Orthopaedic patients include joint replacements, traumatic fractures and injuries to the extremities, and back pain. 4NW also cares for a variety of both medical and surgical neurological patients including stroke, movement disorders, traumatic brain/spinal injuries, and mixed neurosurgical patients. All nursing staff are NIHSS stroke certified and all caregivers receive specialized training to promote safe and early mobilization of post‑surgical joint patients.

The Health Unit Coordinator provides customer service and clerical support to physicians, members of the health care team, patients, and families. Enters charge data and supports department operations.
As a HUC you are responsible for the following- Performs charge entry on patient accounts to ensure charges are accurate and ethical.
- Uses HUC and Clerical Staff tools and resources provided by Pro Health Care to determine chargeable items.
- Reconciles the prior day's activity daily to ensure charge entry accuracy.
- Collecting admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) forms (e.g. Important Message from Medicare, Consent to Admit, Patient Rights and Responsibilities form, patient location and status) and updates the electronic medical record.
- Facilitates department operations by dispatching health care team resources.
- Answer, prioritize, and direct phone calls including paging and logging health care team responses.
- Previous experience preferred
- Positive attitude
- Ability to use multiple computer systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft programs and EPIC
