.
- Completing transformer mechanical drawings based on the internal and external layout, standard practices, and/or from technical advisories.
- Calculating dimensions, allowances, and specifications per standard procedures or general design knowledge of shop capabilities when standard procedures do not exist. Verifying and updating drawings.
- Providing technical support and training of others.
- Assisting the supervisor in the planning and scheduling of the design and detailing processes.
- Assisting on development projects as requested by supervisor. This may also include completion of standard processes or practices and computer programs.
- Recommending and developing new procedures to improve the efficiency of the detailing process.
- Knowledge of 3D software
- Excellent process and problem solving skills
- An understanding of drafting procedures
- An excellent team player with strong people skills; ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation
- Computer skills: highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ProE
- Currently pursuing Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Drafting and Design or related field
- Proven ability to perform assignments under minimal supervision, with assistance as required for design questions or technical problem.
- Engineering Organization, including mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and applications engineering groups
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Working ConditionsShop-floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus
