Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Base pay range: $15.50/hr - $18.25/hr

- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and express gratitude to every guest. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering promptly and professionally to ensure top-notch guest service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Ensure store areas, including restrooms, are clean and merchandised according to guidelines. Ensure store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety practices, and making bank deposits as required.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures, and move products from stock to selling floor to ensure representation and organization.
- Support management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system. Complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as needed. Ensure sufficient cash for transactions.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report to the Store Manager as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures.
- Observe associate performance and provide feedback to store management.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work alone, stand and move in the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Provide genuine and friendly assistance to every guest during each visit.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations, including attendance, dress, and grooming standards.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills, self-motivation, and teamwork.
- Problem-solving, judgment, and the ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Stand and move throughout the store for up to 10 hours per day.
