Job Title:
Quality Assurance Supervisor (1st Shift)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Pay Rate Range: $75-85k
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor (1st Shift) is responsible for leading and overseeing all QA activities on the first shift to ensure products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role supervises Quality Inspectors, coordinates shift operations, manages documentation, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the floor. The Supervisor also partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain strong food safety practices and ensure consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and support Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with QA procedures and expectations.
- Perform all duties of Quality Inspectors as needed and provide on-floor leadership during production runs.
- Coordinate daily staffing and workflow for the Quality department on 1st shift.
- Lead onboarding and training of new Quality Inspectors.
- Review QA documentation, logs, and reports; initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and current work instructions aligned with customer requirements.
- Manage components and finished goods placed on hold, ensuring timely disposition.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances for components or finished products.
- Conduct root cause and risk analyses, develop and implement corrective action plans, and provide follow-up reporting.
- Support quality issue resolution through coaching, training, and process validation.
- Communicate professionally across departments and ensure smooth operational handoff to the next shift.
- Provide administrative support within the QA department, including report generation and log maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Shift: 1st Shift — Monday to Friday
- MS Excel: Advanced proficiency, including macros and pivot tables.
- Experience: 2–4 years in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Supervisory
Experience:
Minimum 1 year. - Soft Skills: Assertive, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
