Overview

Psych Nurse Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Manager to lead our mental health nursing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence patient care quality and foster a supportive, collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for mental health services.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the psychiatric nursing department, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and team cohesion
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and external agencies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
    Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and relevant state licensure
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and psychiatric medications
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle complex clinical situations with professionalism and compassion
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and quality assurance processes
