Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Contract with a client in Waukegan, IL(Hybrid). Candidate must lead mechanical design for electromechanical systems with strong expertise in sheet metal, enclosure design, and electrical component integration.
Rate Range: $40/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Lead mechanical design efforts for electromechanical products including enclosures, chassis, brackets, and system-level packaging.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using CREO or Solid Works with proper GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Develop robust sheet metal designs that meet structural, thermal, manufacturability, and cost requirements.
- Plan and execute electrical component placement, mechanical packaging, and integration with PCBs, connectors, and cable assemblies.
- Design and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies ensuring proper fit, strain relief, and routing best practices.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and design revisions while collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of mechanical design experience in electromechanical or electronics-packaging environments.
- Candidate must have strong proficiency in CREO or Solid Works with experience in sheet metal enclosure design and component packaging.
- Candidate must demonstrate expertise in wire-harness layout, cable management, and integrating mechanical designs with electrical systems.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
