The Aerospace segment focuses on key segments and strategic initiatives to support its growth. The Segment Manager Commercial OEM, MRO, & GA America's will focus on developing and executing on marketing strategies to support business growth.
This position is the center point within the marketing team for all products, initiatives, and development focused on these sub-segments. This person will need to engage with key customers, internally and externally, to ensure a customer-centric approach for delivering growth. This person will successfully develop the annual segment strategic plan, navigates product management activities, lead the new product development process, and works closely with / guides regional product management on the execution of projects and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities- 1) Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM):
Akzo Nobel holds a leading position with commercial Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The segment manager position collaborates closely with, supports and drives activities for our key customers Boeing & Embraer. This is a sub-segment where customer interaction is key, with high demands being placed by the customer for coatings solutions and support. Key areas of focus include:- Identifies new product customer needs, market requirements and translates those needs into segment and action plans.
- Manage the combined product portfolio, and develop, together with RD&I, the right product offer and mix for the market, managing NPD projects and to both develop and realize the short / mid / long term innovation roadmap.
- Support the push to qualify our products at the OEMs and extend our footprint globally.
- Ensure close collaboration with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and support for audits, tenders, documentation / change requests, qualifications.
- Keep buy-in and support for the business high among key internal stakeholders.
- Direct customer involvement through projects and initiatives
- 2) Maintenance & Repair Organizations (MRO):
The MRO business requires resources dedicated to understanding market dynamics and the translation of product from OEM implementation to MRO use, including management and development of a portfolio meeting the needs of a diverse range of customers worldwide;
Key areas of focus include:- Manage the combined product portfolio, ensuring an optimum and streamlined offering to support all customer needs.
- Develop, together with RD&I, the right product offer and mix for the market, by driving and supporting the execution of the innovation roadmap.
- Managing new product development projects – including dedicated introductions to this sub segment, production relocation.
- 3) General Aviation:
The General Aviaton & eVTOL business is highly fragmented the segment manager will identfy customer exterior and interior coatngs and service’s needs, developing a dedicated portfolio to drive growth, identfying colour matching needs and colour delivery solutions, Key areas of focus include: - Development of the segment plan for the General Aviation & eVTOL segment in conjunction with key stakeholders.
