General Merchandise (GM) and Food – General Responsibilities

Target is hiring for GM and Food roles including General Merchandise, Closing, Fulfillment, Inbound, and Food & Beverage support. The role involves processing, inventory, pricing, signing, and fulfillment support to enable a consistent guest experience across GM areas of the store.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their needs and thank them for shopping at Target.
• Execute daily tasks to support business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing backroom areas, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment if certified, to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Process price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Understand how operational procedures affect inventory, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and communicate hazards as needed.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders, delivery/pickup) while complying with applicable laws.
• All other duties as needed based on business needs.

• Strong guest question resolution skills and attention to detail.
• Capable of remaining adaptable and focused in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Accurate cash handling and basic store operations awareness.
• Physical ability to climb ladders and lift/move merchandise up to 44 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures and conditions depending on duties.
