About the Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Consumer & Competitive Insights Manager to lead efforts to understand both our consumers and the competitive landscape. This role will sit within the Research and Development organization and serve as a critical bridge between research and product development and our four global business units. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of market research expertise, competitive intelligence acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

Ensure the proper use and execution of qualitative and quantitative research tools to uncover consumer needs, behaviors, and preferences across the global enterprise.

Translate consumer flavor data into actionable insights to support product leadership, brand strategy, and go-to-market planning.

Partner with marketing and commercial teams to ensure the consumer voice is embedded in strategic initiatives within the Research and Development Department.

Create a strong feedback loop to ensure innovation and achieve our mission, winning with flavor.

Monitor and analyze competitor activities, breeding programs, grower uptake, market trends, and emerging technologies.

Develop competitive global landscape reports and strategic briefings on new berry varieties being patented for leadership and product teams.

Collaborate with global business units and deployment managers to identify threats and opportunities across regions.

Act as a strategic partner to Research & Development Teams, Marketing, and Product Leadership teams across all global business units.

Facilitate knowledge sharing and alignment between global and regional teams to ensure insights are leveraged globally.

Support strategic planning and innovation roadmaps with data-driven recommendations.

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or competitive intelligence
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization and storytelling.
  • Experience in agriculture, food, or CPG industries.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Experience managing third-party research providers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and Berry business acumen.
  • Experience Managing People: 5+ years
  • Travel availability (30% national and international)
Compensation and Benefits

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job‑related factors.

Salary Range estimated for the Global Consumer & Competitive Insights Manager: $103,560/year to $135,628/year.
