Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Watsonville, California. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to vital accounting processes, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance tasks. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting practices with a focus on accuracy, organization, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end financial close processes, including cash reconciliations, account analysis, and reviewing account activity.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger on a daily, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis as required.

- Generate and submit commission reports in line with contractual deadlines.

- Review financial transactions across accounting systems to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reporting packages.

- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts to help achieve financial goals.

- Collaborate on annual reviews and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.

- Handle governmental filings and tax returns, such as payroll, sales tax, and property tax submissions.

- Reconcile billing records and address credit balances, refunds, and adjustments as necessary. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.

- Minimum of three years of accounting experience with attention to detail.

- Proficiency in general ledger management and familiarity with accounting systems;
Epicor experience is preferred.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle financial data effectively.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting reports and correspondence.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads in a deadline-oriented environment.

- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus, but not required.
