Trusted Recruiter is proud to be supporting a specialist manufacturer of bespoke seating systems for wheelchair users in their search for a hands-on, skilled Production Technician to join their growing workshop team.
This is not volume manufacturing. Every seating system is custom-built for an individual - improving comfort, posture and quality of life. Each product is its own project, taken from brief through to completion.
If you are someone who genuinely enjoys making things - not just supervising or repairing - this could be an incredibly rewarding opportunity.
The Role
You will:
* Manufacture bespoke seating systems for wheelchair users
* Interpret briefs, notes, photos and drawings
* Work across multiple stages of production
* Adapt positively to change, rework and variation
* Gradually cross-train across different processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop
Who We’re Looking For
Attitude and maker ability matter most.
✔ Hands-on, craft-oriented mindset
✔ Pride in producing high-quality physical products
✔ Resilient and adaptable
✔ Open, constructive communicator
✔ Problem-solving approach
✔ Comfortable working in a flexible, trust-based team environment
Relevant backgrounds could include upholstery, fashion or costume production, mechanical or production engineering, model-making, CNC operation, product design or bespoke fabrication - but formal qualifications are not essential. Training and development are provided.
What’s on Offer
* £25,000–£35,000 depending on experience (annual review)
* 25 days holiday + birthday off (if weekday)
* Pension
* Up to 5 days company sick pay
* iPad for production documentation
* Occasional performance-based bonus
* No expectation to take work home
Why Join?
* Direct impact on wheelchair users’ comfort and daily lives
* Meaningful, skilled, hands-on work
* Supportive and caring team culture
* Opportunity to expand skills across multiple production areas
* Growing business with increasing automation and product development
If you enjoy creating real, physical products that genuinely improve people’s lives — and want to be part of a skilled, positive team — we would love to hear from you
