This is a great opportunity for an inspiring and hands‑on General Services Manager to lead a dedicated, multi‑service team at the prestigious Smith & Nephew Head Office and Academy. At the heart of the site is Modern Recipe, a vibrant staff restaurant that also delivers hospitality to the Academy, welcoming surgeons from around the world. You will lead a close‑knit team of 4 catering professionals, 6 cleaning operatives, and 2 receptionists, driving high standards, strong team culture, and a seamless hospitality‑led experience across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Full management of all Sodexo‑delivered services on site, ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
- Accountable leadership of Sodexo employees, including engagement, performance management, training, and development
- Delivery and oversight of Health & Safety and Food Safety training
- Robust contractor control and compliance management
- Proactive problem‑solving and agile response to client business changes
- Strong partnership working with the client to maintain a high‑end hospitality environment
- Financial oversight, budget management, and commercial awareness
- Driving continuous improvement across all service lines
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a facilities or services management role
- Strong facilities management capability
- Resilience and ability to perform in a high‑expectation environment
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively with others
- Results‑oriented mindset
- Financial and business awareness
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
- Food Safety / Food Handlers qualification - Supervisor level or above
- Proven experience managing multi‑service teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to deliver high standards of hospitality within a corporate environment
