Data Manager

A well-established and growing UK energy supplier is looking for a Data Lead to shape how data is governed, trusted and used across the business. This is a key role sitting between technical teams and commercial stakeholders, helping drive smarter, data-led decision making at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Owning and evolving the company’s data governance framework, policies and standards
• Defining data ownership, quality controls and compliance requirements (including GDPR and regulatory reporting)
• Monitoring data quality metrics and driving continuous improvement across systems and processes
• Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure consistent, reliable data
• Championing a data-first mindset across the organisation, making complex concepts clear and accessible
• Overseeing key data processes to ensure reporting and analytics are accurate and aligned
• Working closely with data engineers and architects to ensure data is structured effectively across modern platforms such as warehouses and lakes
• Providing practical recommendations to improve how data is integrated and surfaced for insight
• Managing the day-to-day delivery of a Data Engineer and Data Architect
• Contributing to wider data initiatives that enhance efficiency and commercial value

Main Skills Needed:

• 5+ years’ experience in data-focused roles (e.g. Data Analyst, BI Lead, Data Governance)
• Strong understanding of data management, governance frameworks and reporting environments
• Solid knowledge of modern data ecosystems, including data warehouses, data lakes and integration approaches
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders and translate technical topics into business language
• Familiarity with GDPR and regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience with in energy or utilities is advantageous
• Degree in a data or business-related discipline
