Position: Band 2/3 - Healthcare Support Worker, Cardiac Centre

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our teams in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Watford General Hospital. You will rotate between the Cardiac Cath Lab and the Cardiac Centre, providing high‑quality, compassionate care to patients before and after cardiac procedures.

Main Duties

• Assist in cardiology clinics by collecting patient details, recording observations, and performing ECG recordings.

• Provide care and support to patients and their families as an essential part of the nursing team.

• Support clinical staff in delivering safe and effective care.

    Permanent, full‑time, flexible working.

  • Salary: £25,768 to £27,928 a year including HCA.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide patient‑centred care in high‑pressure cardiac settings.
  • Record and interpret observations and ECG tracings.
  • Support nursing staff and multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Promote infection control and safety standards.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Good general education and proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to undertake the Care Certificate, Skills for Care and Skills for Health training.
  • Broad team‑working experience and strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of the role of a Healthcare Assistant.

Desirable:

  • Completion of the Care Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • English GCSE A*–C or functional skills level 2.
  • Maths GCSE A*–C or functional skills level 2.
  • Previous training in First Aid.
  • IT skills.
  • Experience in a health setting.
