About the Role
West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for Advanced Practitioner (Band 8a) positions in our Emergency Medicine Division. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will support both the nursing and medical teams in the Emergency Department, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding patient care from initial contact through to admission or discharge.
Key responsibilities include:
- Early assessment of patients
- Access to investigations and coordinated care pathways
- Consultation and independent prescribing
- Liaison with medical, nursing, AHP and support teams
- Exercising professional autonomy and judgment in a 7‑day service
- Shifting across a 7‑day rota covering all areas within the Emergency Division
- Clinically strong and patient‑focused
- Calm, confident decision‑makers
