Overview

We are looking for a full‑time Moving and Handling Trainer to join the Moving & Handling Service.

This post requires an individual with clinical healthcare experience who is enthusiastic and passionate about safe moving & handling practice and able to deliver training within classrooms and departmental environments across all Trust sites. A “train the trainer” qualification is required, but suitable candidates from other backgrounds will be considered and provided with training as appropriate.

The role is incredibly varied; we are looking for someone dynamic, flexible and able to move across sites and various work streams—including admin, practical training, equipment, clinical and non‑clinical areas—and all levels of staff.

The service operates 08:00‑16:00 Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet service needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver moving & handling training programmes to all levels of staff, both theory and practical.
  • Use various training materials, including presentation aids, lesson plans and training records.
  • Identify and use appropriate equipment for each session.
  • Demonstrate and supervise best practice in patient moving & handling, influencing change as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of moving & handling legislation and guidelines.
  • Support and develop moving & handling support programmes.
  • Present training confidently using effective verbal and written communication and IT skills.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Clinical healthcare experience in a moving & handling context.
  • ‘Train the trainer’ qualification (required); training provided if not possessed.
  • Physical ability to demonstrate and supervise moving & handling procedures.
