We are a fast-growing technology and media group seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead and transform our finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in complex environments and wants to make a tangible impact. With multiple divisions and a profitable turnover under £100m, you’ll have the autonomy to rebuild processes and shape the future of finance.

With multiple divisions and a profitable turnover under £100m, you’ll have the autonomy to rebuild processes and shape the future of finance.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead and develop a finance team of 5–6, including a Financial Controller and local accountants.
- Oversee all core finance activities:
Accounts Payable/Receivable, Financial Accounting, Management Reporting, and Business Partnering
. - Work closely with the CFO on new systems implementation and global process rollouts.
- Strengthen financial controls and reporting standards, liaising with Top 20 auditors.
- Rebuild and optimize the finance function, ensuring robust balance sheet management and accurate reporting.
- Address operational challenges, including cashflow management and integration following a recent funding round.
- Support strategic decision-making while remaining hands-on with the detail.
- ACA or ACCA qualified
, with a strong audit background (Top 20 firm experience preferred). - Proven experience as a Group Financial Controller or Finance Director in a multi-division environment.
- Strong cash management skills are essential
, with the ability to navigate complex funding and liquidity challenges. - Skilled in team transformation, systems implementation, and process improvement.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to solve problems and deliver results.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Able to start within 3 months or sooner and commute to Watford regularly.
- Full autonomy to shape and rebuild the finance function
