Overview
The School of Hair, Beauty and Creative are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join their team at the Luton Campus as a Learning Assistant in Media. The successful candidate will be part of the curriculum team, working alongside teaching staff to support learning. The role requires a proactive individual to provide practical support to the staff and students in classrooms with activities such as:
- Video Production and Editing
- Audio Production
- Graphic design & visual content
- Animation & motion graphics
- Digital and web media
- Social media & content management
- Equipment and technical support
This is a hands-on role in our workshops, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge on to others, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
Responsibilities- Support with the setup and preparation of classrooms, workshops, assessment areas and resources; ensure all equipment and stock is maintained and meets the needs of the students and industry requirements.
- Be confident with the following software and be able to coach and teach this to learners:
Adobe Premiere Pro;
Adobe Illustrator;
Adobe Photoshop;
Adobe After Effects. - Assist students with their practical work and impart industry experience to develop employability skills relevant to their career goals. Support students with their final project work.
- Manage some stock and demonstrate correct and safe use of equipment to students and staff, including booking and allocating equipment, maintaining it or preparing it for planned practical use in lessons.
- Promote professionalism and excellent customer service at all times. Demonstrate good practical knowledge of the Creative Media department with relevant qualifications and industry experience.
- Maintain a professional manner, good communication skills and the ability to interpret technical information and explain it clearly.
- Term-time only position working 33 hours per week at the Luton Campus, 34 weeks per year.

- Confident with required software and ability to coach learners in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
- Relevant qualifications and industry experience in the Creative Media department.
- A proactive, responsible approach and the ability to act as a role model.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, workshop-based environment and support both staff and students.
Closing date for applications is Friday 20th March 2026. The successful candidate will be joining the team from August 2026.
