A friendly, community-focused primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher for a long-term position starting in February 2026. The school is well regarded for its supportive staff team, welcoming atmosphere, and strong commitment to helping every child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
This role would suit both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering engaging, structured, and inspiring learning experiences within KS1.
About the Role
Take responsibility for a happy and motivated Year 2 class, supporting pupils as they progress through KS1
Plan and deliver creative, well-differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Provide high-quality teaching across reading, writing, maths, and SATs preparation
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment
Assess and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted interventions
Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Contribute positively to the wider school community and collaborative staff culture
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within KS1 (Year 2 experience is desirable)
Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment requirements
Excellent organisational, communication, and behaviour management skills
A positive, proactive approach and genuine enthusiasm for supporting young learners
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
