Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor – £17m New Build & Fit Out – Watford

£40-60,000 plus travel covered to the site, bonus, 25 days holiday
A rapidly expanding main contractor is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Eastern Region commercial team. The business delivers projects across commercial offices, hospitality, hotels, student accommodation, residential, new build and major refurbishment, with the wider group on track for £200m turnover and a strong, secure pipeline of work.
Project Overview
You will joining a skilled site team, including a Senior Quantity Surveyor, a £17m scheme in Watford, involving a new build element and the fit out of upper‑floor rooms. The project is live and programmed to run until January next year, giving you immediate ownership of a significant, high‑value scheme.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing all Quantity Surveying duties on a £17m new build and fit out project

* Procurement, tendering, cost control, valuations, variations and commercial reporting

* Subcontractor negotiation, management and performance oversight

* Working closely with the Project Manager and wider site team

* Accurate forecasting, risk management and financial control

* Supporting commercial activity across the region as required
Candidate Requirements

* Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor

* Experience with a main contractor delivering new build or fit out projects

* Strong commercial reporting and subcontract management skills

* Ability to manage packages or projects in the £10m–£20m range

* Based within reach of Watford / Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire / Buckinghamshire / North London

* Strong Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking to step up are also encouraged to apply
