Head Swim Teach Coach

Overview

The Kennebec Valley YMCA is seeking a motivated, inclusive, and experienced Head Swim Coach for a contracted 10-month per year span. Team Coach to lead our competitive wim program. This coach will work with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from developmental to competitive levels, fostering a positive team culture that reflects the YMCA's mission and core values. The Head Coach will be responsible for planning and conducting practices, attending and supervising swim meets, communicating with families, and collaborating with YMCA staff to ensure a high-quality aquatics program.

• Planning and conducting practices for the swim program
• Attending and supervising swim meets
• Communicating with families
• Collaborating with YMCA staff to ensure a high-quality aquatics program

• Current or ability to obtain YMCA Swimming Coach Certification
• Current or ability to obtain USA Swimming Coach Certification
• Current Safe Sport Certification (USA Swimming) or ability to obtain.
• Current CPR/AED/ First Aid and Lifeguarding certifications or ability to obtain
• Previous swim coaching experience preferred (all age groups and ability levels)
• Knowledge of competitive swimming techniques, training principles, and meet procedures
• Ability to work with diverse populations and create an inclusive team environment.
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
• Compliance with all YMCA and USA Swimming certification and background screening requirements.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and attend swim meets.
