The Quality Technician supports the Quality Director by ensuring that the customer is always the priority. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, audits, testing, and documentation to ensure that products, processes, and services meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. The Quality Technician works closely with production, management, and customers to support a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret quality documents, procedures, and customer specifications.
Ability to respond professionally to quality issues, inquiries, and customer concerns.
Strong reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, proportions, area, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, for documentation, data entry, and report preparation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management.
High school diploma required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to work directly with management and all levels of the workforce.
Demonstrated ability to conduct audits and investigations to ensure compliance with quality programs and procedures.
Ability to represent the company in quality-related meetings as needed.
On-the-job training is provided for specific testing methods and quality system requirements.
Perform inspections of parts and processes in accordance with internal and customer specifications.
Conduct dock audits and document findings.
Perform paint and coating tests, including gloss, hardness, color, orange peel, adhesion, and film thickness.
Run oven temperature profiles as required.
Maintain quality system records and controlled documents.
Issue, track, and close corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Enter and maintain rework logs, including part numbers and pricing updates in the system.
Assist with resolving customer complaints and quality problems.
Perform internal audits of the quality management system.
Identify and report quality and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
Support employee training related to quality requirements and customer satisfaction.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Combination of office and production floor work.
Frequent walking or standing on concrete surfaces.
Physical activity includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, twisting, and turning.
Exposure to varying temperatures and moderate noise levels on the production floor.
Requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly in English.
Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work schedule may range from 8–12 hours per day, including early or late meetings.
May require travel outside the facility; must be able to operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions legally.
Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
Participate in evacuation, severe-weather, and emergency-response procedures.
Demonstrate a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
