Overview
Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown, Wisconsin is seeking a Registered Nurse for our new Senior Behavioral Health Unit. The unit is a 15-bed inpatient psychiatric unit that specializes in treating elderly patients with mental illness. Diagnoses include depression, anxiety, suicide attempts, bipolar and schizophrenia. The shift is 7:00am to 7:00pm with 3 - 12 hour shifts per weekend. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Responsibilities- The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse provides individualized psychiatric nursing care in a professional, competent, efficient, safe, compassionate, and caring manner.
- The RN assesses the patients’ needs, plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of patient care.
- This position carries out these responsibilities independently with the guidance of accepted nursing and department practice as well as directed by medical staff. This position provides the knowledge and skills to meet physician, patient, staff, and/or WRMC needs and performs in accordance with WRMC standards and policies.
- The Registered Nurse directs the nursing care activities of paraprofessionals or other nursing team members and provides nursing leadership.
- The RN is responsible for assuring patient safety at all times and facilitates effective communication with patients, support personnel and members of the healthcare team. This position provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Qualifications- Education
:
Associate’s degree in Nursing Required;
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Certificate/License
:
Currently licensed by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse;
Basic Life Support (BLS) required - Experience
:
Six months of RN experience in a direct patient care setting preferred;
Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing strongly preferred
