Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Take an active role in direct resident assessment and care.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in accordance with state, federal, and corporate guidelines.
- Formulate individualized nursing care plans using the nursing process.
- Assess each resident shift and implement changes in the course of care as needed.
- Assist the physician on rounds and ensure accurate communication of orders.
- Participate in training and supervision of nursing personnel.
- Utilize principles of leadership and supervision.
- Manage conflict through effective problem‑solving and communication.
- Act calmly and efficiently during emergencies.
- Prepare daily assignments of duties, treatments, and miscellaneous tasks.
- Identify potential safety hazards and non‑compliance with corporate guidelines.
- Maintain accurate resident care records and documents.
- Attend and contribute to resident care meetings, staff meetings, and in‑services.
- Teach residents, families, and staff – formally or informally.
- Dispense medication and perform treatments as per physician orders and policy.
- Notify physicians and families promptly of significant changes in residents’ health.
- Ensure residents and families receive high‑quality, compassionate service.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
- Interact with patients, families, visitors, and corporate personnel.
- Carry out tasks requiring hands‑on intervention as needed.
- Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and in different units as required.
- Maintain good personal hygiene and follow dress code.
- Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
- Current valid Registered Nurse license issued in the state of practice.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing school.
- Up‑to‑date physical assessment skills and comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles.
- Recent experience in geriatric or rehabilitative nursing and supervisory experience preferred.
