Responsibilities
  • Learn Walgreens’ operations and ways of working to lead full store operations across front-end and pharmacy ("one-box"). Complete accelerated development to Store Manager within the specified timeframe as outlined in the learning plan.
  • Under the direction of the Store Manager, oversee the operation (front-end and pharmacy) of a Walgreens store.
  • Support store operations by shadowing or assisting the Store Manager in leading the store throughout the learning journey.
  • Complete rigorous, accelerated program including all certifications needed for the Store Manager role.
  • Attend and complete classroom learning, online training and on-the-job training. Fulfill rotations and learning objectives by spending time in other stores in the area as assigned.
  • Follow individual development plans offered by the District Manager. Participate in one-on-one conversations with the Store Manager and District Manager to support continuous professional growth and demonstrate readiness for permanent assignment with the Director of Pharmacy and Retail Operations.
  • Self-develop by monitoring performance, setting high standards, learning about retail, pharmacy, and management; seek best practices.
  • Learn and implement compliance standard operating procedures (SOPs) across front-end and pharmacy. Gain knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software.
  • Obtain pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required by state law (and pursue PTCB certification, as required by state).
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer complaints promptly and model customer service best practices.
  • Monitor customer service, provide coaching and training, and develop plans for improvements in both front-end and pharmacy. Empower team members to resolve issues and build loyalty.
  • Support the Store Manager in observing customer service trends, analyzing feedback, and improving service metrics.
  • Shadow Store Manager and gain experience supervising store operations and team members, including opening/closing shifts and delegating tasks; oversee merchandising tasks and promotional setups.
  • Protect store assets by administering internal loss prevention programs and monitoring systems; maintain price accuracy and perform in-store price audits.
  • Analyze inventory trends, supervise inventory management, and ensure proper receiving, counting, ordering, pricing, and returns for front-end and pharmacy.
  • Supervise store operations to comply with all applicable laws and regulations (including sale of alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy products).
  • Ensure safety and well-being of team members; utilize Security Operations Center as needed.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and business partners.
  • Complete special assignments and assist team members as needed.
  • Learns to analyze financial and performance data for the store and pharmacy; develops action plans to improve results, including increasing sales and controlling costs.
  • Identify sales opportunities to grow the front-end and pharmacy business.
  • Review asset protection data and develop plans to reduce loss.
  • Review daily and weekly performance metrics; prepare action plans to improve results for review with the Store Manager and District Manager.
  • Analyze pharmacy performance indicators and coordinate with the Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacy Operations Manager to enhance pharmacy performance.
  • Assist in understanding inventory metrics and processes; support growth initiatives directed by the Support Center, community outreach, and partnerships through planning, implementing, executing, and follow-up reviews.
