Job Overview:

Watertown Healthcare Center is seeking a reliable and skilled Temporary Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our nursing home. This role is essential in maintaining a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and doors

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety checks

  • Assist with room turnovers, including basic repairs and setup

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs

  • Assist with emergency maintenance issues as needed

  • Support groundskeeping or snow removal as required

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or residential setting preferred

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and facility policies

  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to pass background checks and health screenings as required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching

  • Ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues

Work Environment
  • May require evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as needed.
