Watertown Healthcare Center is seeking a reliable and skilled Temporary Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our nursing home. This role is essential in maintaining a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and doors
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
Conduct preventative maintenance and safety checks
Assist with room turnovers, including basic repairs and setup
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
Assist with emergency maintenance issues as needed
Support groundskeeping or snow removal as required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or residential setting preferred
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
Ability to follow safety procedures and facility policies
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to pass background checks and health screenings as required
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching
Ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues
May require evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as needed.
