Are you looking to jumpstart your career in carpentry and gain hands‑on experience in the construction industry? Backroad Construction in Watertown SD is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Carpenter Apprentice/Helper. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced carpenters and learn the ins and outs of the trade.
Responsibilities:- Help carpenters with duties such as measuring, cutting, and installing materials
- Assist with the set up and clean‑up of work sites
- Learn how to operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
- Follow instructions from lead carpenters to complete tasks efficiently
- Help carpenters with duties to ensure projects are completed on time and to high quality standards
- No prior experience required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are a must
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor as needed
- Basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites
