The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities.
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.

• The ideal candidate has a welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and follow a multi-step process.
