Retail Scan Associate (Watertown, SD 57201)

Permanent part‑time role. Scan Scape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer.

• Store types:
  Grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores
• Locations: WEBSTER SD 57274, WATERTOWN SD 57201, and others as assigned
• Available workdays:
  Usually Monday or Tuesday; sometimes Sunday
• Estimated hours: 6‑7 hours per week per store, varying by store size and project requirements

• Perform in‑store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks.
• Use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store.
• Provide quantity information for approximately 45% of the products scanned.
• Complete display scanning of the entire store on a weekly basis.
• Fulfill custom project requests that may add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work for certain weeks.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines and maintain high data quality.

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods and reach, lift, and bend as required.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline‑driven self‑starter.

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
