Welder - 1st Shift

Overview

The Welder is responsible for set‑up and operation of advanced welding equipment, including robotic welding machines. The role focuses on solving problems, eliminating scrap and downtime, and ensuring all repair work meets high quality standards.

• Plan details of working procedures.
• Inspect finished product for completeness and conformance to all quality assurance procedures.
• Safely operate all advanced level welding equipment, including robotic welding.
• Set up, troubleshoot and make advanced adjustments to welding machines as needed to maintain good production and quality.
• Serve as weld training contact for weld lines and provide mentoring to new welders.
• Participate in improvement planning – modify weld procedures to increase safety, efficiency and quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Read and understand blueprints, work order instructions, weld symbols and operate required tools involved in position.
• Basic data entry skills for maintenance breakdown calls.
• Good problem‑solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
• Handle physical repetitive work and stand on feet for 8 hours a day.
• 1 year weld experience preferred but not required.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Shift schedule: 1st shift Monday – Thursday 5am – 3pm; 2nd shift Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1am with $3.00/hr differential; weekend shift Friday – Sunday 6am – 6pm for 36 hours with $4.50/hr differential.
