Employee Relations, Operations Manager
General Function
GENERAL FUNCTION: Assists the human resource manager in the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of all phases of human resources activities for Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Communicates and recommends procedures to managers/supervisors to improve organizational performance regarding employment issues.
- Instructs and trains in correct methods and procedures as it relates to team member performance.
- Assists and/or facilitates the training and orientation of new team members.
- Assists in the monitoring and development of department accountabilities and ensuring job descriptions are aligned to each role.
- Collaborates with all departments to provide feedback and analysis of department requirements in terms of staffing, structure and employee needs together with the HR manager.
- Assists with team member disputes, performance reviews, and grievances as and when required.
- Plans, develops, and monitors the DSC Human Resources newsletter, The P.O.S.T.
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
Minimum Qualifications- Previous experience in human resources.
- Thorough knowledge of management principles and supervisory practices.
Working knowledge of company benefits, policies and procedures. Must exercise tact and confidentiality when dealing with all issues. Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and oral. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and use of equipment. Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing these duties, the team member is regularly required to talk and/or hear; and must walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time. Must also be able to bend, twist, reach and carry up to thirty (30) pounds or more. Repetitious computer use.

Education and Experience
- Associates or better in Business Administration or related field.
- Previous experience in human resources.
- Thorough knowledge of management principles and supervisory practices.
- Leadership skills
