Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)
Location: New York
Start Date: Mid-April
Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call required
Radius Rule: 100-mile radius
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide safe, high-quality perioperative care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and the capacity to function effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining patient safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care in the operating room and associated areas (ASU).
Assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual requirements.
Recognize safety issues for self and others, including safe patient handling using lifts.
Function effectively under stressful situations, employing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills, prioritize tasks, and delegate appropriately.
May assume charge nurse responsibilities when required.
Use typical clinical equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe and aseptic environment.
Interpret lethal dysrhythmias and respond appropriately.
Participate in on-call rotation with a response time of 30 minutes.

RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Current NYS RN License or eligibility
BLS certification required (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
ACLS preferred
Minimum 1 year medical/surgical experience preferred
Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred
Special Requirements:
Nurses without recent OR experience must complete the 6-month AORN Perioperative 101 Education Program with successful final exam completion.
